The Vintage 3 utilizes Tone Tuning Technology™ to mimic the frequency response of AlNiCo 3. The AlNiCo 3 response is just about halfway between the peakier 5 and the smoother 3, providing a nice balanced tone like some of the original Tele® bridge pickups. The nickel plated steel base plate adds some additional twang.
